    Carbon fiber pultruded tubes offer an excellent balance of strength, weight, and durability, making them suitable for a wide range of applications across different industries. Pultruded carbon fibre round tube manufactured from 100% unidirectional carbon fibre.


    The tube has an outer diameter (OD) of 7mm and an inner diameter (ID) of 5mm.


    Enhanced Composites carbon fibre tube uses high-strength 12K carbon fibre yarn with an epoxy resin system to ensure a strong rigid rod that will meet the highest standards.


    Pultruded products perform incredibly well in bending and tension (pulling) applications since all the fibres are oriented along the length of the tube (or rod). They do not however perform well in other loading scenarios such as torque, torsional move, side loads, or crushing.


    How to Cut and Shape


    They can be cut with a band saw, coping saw, scroll saw, end mill, or Dremel tool. Because Enhanced Composites pultruded carbon fibre tubes are manufactured using an epoxy matrix they will easily bond with epoxy resins.


    Typical Uses


    These light 7mm tubes are ideal for scale aircraft, gliders, helicopter UAVs or any construction that requires strength, rigidity and lightness but would be equally suited to other precision applications like robotics and automation. We do not recommend the pultruded tubing or rod in applications such as drone or UAV motor (boom) arms.

    Pultrusion Process:

    1. Resin Impregnation: Pultrusion involves pulling fibers (such as carbon fibers) through a resin bath where they are thoroughly impregnated with a liquid resin. The resin can be epoxy, polyester, or another suitable matrix material.
    2. Molding and Curing: The impregnated fibers are then pulled through a shaping die to form the desired cross-sectional shape, in this case, a tube. The entire assembly is then passed through a heated die to cure and harden the resin.
    3. Continuous Production: One of the advantages of pultrusion is that it allows for the continuous production of composite materials with consistent properties along the length.
